About The Position

As a Consumer Loan Processor I, you'll play an essential role in helping members achieve their financial goals by ensuring a smooth, accurate, and efficient lending experience. From application to funding, you'll be at the center of the consumer lending process, helping members navigate important financial decisions while delivering exceptional service every step of the way. Your attention to detail, commitment to compliance, and ability to build trust will directly contribute to positive member experiences and successful lending outcomes. By partnering with members, internal teams, and external vendors, you'll help create a seamless loan journey that supports BECU's mission of improving the financial well-being of our members and communities. This role requires working PST hours and Saturday rotational shifts.

Requirements

Minimum requires associate’s degree in business or equivalent work or educational experience.
Minimum requires 1 year experience in Consumer Lending, indirect lending or small business lending.
Proficiency in loan origination systems and document review.
PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.
Math and basic accounting skills.
Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

Manage the Loan Journey: Guide consumer loans from application through funding, ensuring each loan moves efficiently through the process while meeting service expectations and established timelines.
Validate Loan Applications: Review loan applications for completeness, accuracy, and proper scoring within the Loan Origination System, helping ensure quality decisions and smooth processing.
Prepare Closing Documentation: Create, review, and finalize loan documents, ensuring all paperwork is complete, accurate, compliant, and ready for member signatures.
Fund Consumer Loans: Execute loan funding and disbursement activities accurately and efficiently, helping members access the financing they need.
Deliver Exceptional Member Support: Serve as a trusted resource for members by answering questions, providing updates, coordinating signing appointments, and delivering a high-quality service experience.
Review Critical Documentation: Analyze supporting documents such as income verification, collateral insurance, purchase orders, and vehicle titles to ensure lending requirements are satisfied.
Resolve Title-Related Issues: Conduct detailed title reviews, identify discrepancies, and work toward timely resolutions while maintaining regulatory and policy compliance.
Partner with External Vendors: Collaborate with third-party vendors to clear collateral conditions, obtain required documentation, and apply valuation cascades as needed.
Balance Multiple Priorities: Monitor and manage multiple queues, inboxes, and loan files simultaneously while maintaining service levels and processing deadlines.
Champion Accuracy and Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in accordance with lending policies, regulatory requirements, and BECU service standards while maintaining a professional and member-focused approach.
Contribute Where Needed: Support team and business objectives by performing additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
