About The Position

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) to support customers in the local Dallas, Texas market. The CSE partners with Client Managers and account teams to provide technical pre-sales expertise to enterprise customers, including Fortune 500 clients across a range of industries. The role involves working with customers and OEM partners to develop technical solutions across areas such as infrastructure modernization, multicloud architecture, security transformation, and digital strategy. The CSE participates in customer sales meetings, presentations, whiteboard sessions, and technical design work. The role uses WWT’s Advanced Technology Center for customer briefings, training, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept work. The position requires travel of up to 25% and calls for strong communication, presentation, product demonstration, and customer service skills. Candidates must live in or near the Dallas, Texas metro area.

Requirements

Live in or near the Dallas, Texas metro area.
At least 5 years of Enterprise IT Engineering experience.
At least 2 years of pre-sales experience.
Experience supporting enterprise environments; experience at larger enterprise companies is preferred.
Strong experience in multiple disciplines, such as compute, storage, data protection, route/switch, unified communications, automation, wireless, security, cloud, and AI.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Excellent oral and written communication, product demonstration, customer service, and presentation skills.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Passion for driving networking, storage, server, virtualization, or security solution strategies and a consultative approach with clients and people at all organizational levels.
Leadership skills and the ability to work in a complex matrix organization.
Presence and credibility at client sites and internally.
Knowledge of technical aspects of networking, storage, server, backup, and virtualization hardware, software, and architectures.

Responsibilities

Perform technical pre-sales systems engineering.
Serve as the technical liaison to supported clients.
Assist in developing statements of work, proofs of concept, and bills of materials.
Design and architect networks.
Attend business appointments with account teams.
Estimate labor hours for Professional Services work.
Represent WWT’s technical expertise in areas such as networking, data, storage, compute, security, and AI for assigned accounts.
Use knowledge of technology, products, and services to build enterprise solutions and solution options for customers.
Work with clients and the WWT Sales team to identify technical priorities, challenges, and initiatives and translate them into technical sales opportunities.
Coordinate the delivery and quality of pre-sales technology solution deliverables across multiple domains, including configurations, architectural diagrams, and proposals.
Manage and achieve a sales gross profit number.
Develop and foster relationships with strategic OEMs and key partners in the region or territory.
Assist with statement of work and proof-of-concept review and development.
Ensure proposed solutions meet customer needs and functional requirements when implemented.
