  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600).
  • Relevant training or certifications in BigQuery, cloud data architecture, or enterprise data modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Own architectural design and technical standards for HR analytical data models across the lakehouse gold layer and enterprise Power BI semantic models.
  • Establish patterns for distributing business logic, calculations, aggregations, and security controls between the analytical data layer and Power BI semantic models.
  • Establish and enforce dimensional modeling, relationship design, business-rule implementation, and reusable metric standards.
  • Investigate complex business metrics, trace calculations to source data, identify inconsistencies in business logic, and resolve data discrepancies across enterprise analytical environments.
  • Ensure analytical data structures are scalable, maintainable, secure, and optimized for enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.
  • Establish and enforce version control, automated testing, and deployment standards for analytical data and Power BI semantic models.
  • Lead technical design reviews to identify architectural weaknesses, performance risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardization.
  • Establish performance expectations and guide optimization of gold-layer structures, semantic models, DAX calculations, and analytical queries.
  • Define and review analytical security architecture, including row-level security, data access patterns, and handling of sensitive workforce information.
  • Partner with data analysts and engineering teams to resolve architectural or performance issues found during validation, UAT, and production operations.
  • Translate analytical requirements into logical and dimensional model designs, technical specifications, and implementation guidance.
  • Lead analytical modeling during reporting modernization and migration, including assessment of legacy structures, translation of business logic, metric reconciliation, and analytical consistency validation.
  • Partner with enterprise data architecture and engineering teams to align gold-layer implementations with approved architecture.
  • Design and govern enterprise Power BI semantic models supporting shared business definitions, reusable measures, and consistent reporting.
  • Provide technical guidance on model relationships, calculation logic, data granularity, aggregation strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Evaluate architectural tradeoffs and recommend solutions balancing performance, maintainability, security, and analytical flexibility.
  • Partner with engineering and BI development teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, source-controlled workflows, and repeatable deployment processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to data architects, BI developers, and other analytical development resources.
  • Review and challenge technical designs to ensure alignment with established standards.
  • Collaborate with data management, engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to resolve cross-functional technical challenges.
  • Mentor technical resources in dimensional modeling, semantic-model design, performance optimization, and architectural best practices.
  • Communicate technical concepts and architectural decisions clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Evaluate emerging Google Cloud, BigQuery, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related capabilities to improve enterprise analytical architecture, integration, performance, and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve model performance, development efficiency, architectural consistency, and maintainability.
  • Exercise independent technical judgment in evaluating analytical data designs and architectural tradeoffs.
  • Apply structured problem-solving to diagnose data-model defects, inefficient queries, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Establish and maintain technical governance practices, including design reviews, architecture documentation, and adherence to modeling standards.
  • Balance immediate delivery needs with long-term architectural sustainability, security, and performance.
