About The Position

Mirantis is seeking a Consulting Architect with expertise in platform engineering, Kubernetes, and AI solutions to help customers design, implement, and optimize open source solutions aligned with their business objectives. The role offers autonomy to define direction, shape strategy, and influence emerging technologies as part of the company’s innovation and strategy team. The architect will help customers adopt open source solutions for cloud infrastructure, AI, and cloud-native computing through pre-sales and post-sales consulting, guiding technology decisions and driving successful outcomes.

The position combines strategic customer engagement with hands-on solution delivery. It includes working with technical and business audiences, designing and optimizing cloud-native and AI/ML workloads in Kubernetes and public cloud environments, enabling customer adoption through workshops and training, and contributing to open source communities. The role calls for someone comfortable with uncertainty who takes ownership, challenges conventional thinking, and works closely with customers to develop scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in open source ecosystems such as OpenStack, CNCF, LF AI & Data, or OpenInfra.
• Expertise in Kubernetes and AI/ML platforms such as Kubeflow, Ray, or MLflow.
• Interest in emerging technologies, next-generation cloud strategies, and AI infrastructure.
• Ability to define direction, take ownership, and drive innovation in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Hands-on experience with cloud automation, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
• Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence engineers and executives.
• Experience in pre-sales, solutions architecture, or professional services using a consultative approach.

Nice To Haves

• Active contributions to open source projects, working groups, or governance bodies.
• Experience speaking at OpenStack Summit, KubeCon, AI Summit, or similar industry events.
• Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud strategies using open source technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic discussions with customers about emerging open source technologies.
• Help define Mirantis’ solution direction in collaboration with colleagues and company leaders.
• Build relationships with technical and business audiences and translate emerging technologies into actionable strategies.
• Design, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud-native and AI/ML workloads in Kubernetes and public cloud environments.
• Help customers scale infrastructure, modernize application architectures, and adopt AI and cloud solutions.
• Deliver workshops, training, and enablement programs to accelerate customer adoption.
• Engage with open source communities, contribute to projects, and advocate for customer needs in upstream development.
• Guide customers through complex technology decisions in pre-sales and post-sales consulting.
