About The Position

This role involves working with licensed professionals in the design, assessment, and/or construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. The consultant will provide technical expertise in architecture, engineering, construction, or related fields for projects including assessments, upgrades, maintenance, restoration, and new construction design components. Responsibilities include performing calculations, researching building codes and standards, and reviewing product submittals. Field assessments may require working from heights or in confined spaces.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 1 year of experience using AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling software.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 1 year of experience with general construction principles and processes.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 1 year of experience in the design, assessment, or construction of building systems.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 1 year of experience providing construction documents, construction administrative services, or project management of building construction.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 1 year of experience analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical reports or journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 1 year of experience writing scopes-of-work, budget estimates, schedules, reports of findings, proposals, general correspondence, and other technical documents.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 1 year of experience reading, interpreting, and understanding technical documents such as codes, engineering cut sheets, building plans, and guidance documents.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 1 year of experience in International Code Council (ICC).
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree AND 3 years of experience using AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling software.

Responsibilities

  • Work with licensed professionals in the design, assessment, and/or construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
  • Provide technical expertise within the field of architecture, engineering, construction, or other related field for projects involving assessments, upgrades, maintenance, and restoration of the built environment, as well as components of design related to new construction.
  • Perform calculations consistent with technical practice area.
  • Research building codes and standards (historical and current).
  • Review/research product submittals, samples, mock-ups, testing reports, data sheets, and warranties.
  • Perform field assessments including working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, rooftops, and mechanical, electrical, and fire protection equipment rooms.
