About The Position
The Construction Worker constructs, maintains, and repairs public facilities, property, streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment. The position works on a crew under regular supervision and performs manual duties according to crew assignments. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Requirements
- One year of related experience and a high school diploma/GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual duties using tools appropriate to the assigned crew.
- Remove, mix, pour, and finish cement sidewalks and install granite and concrete curbing as needed.
- Lay brick, bluestone, Belgium Block, and other special construction materials as needed.
- Cut, remove, and replace asphalt streets as needed.
- Assist with earth road grading and maintenance of City-owned parking lots as required.
- Patch potholes in City-owned streets.
- Plant sod and grass seed on City rights-of-way.
- Drive a pickup truck to deliver tools, materials, and equipment.
- Assist with measuring worksites and determining the quantities and types of materials and equipment needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
