About The Position

Segra is seeking a Construction Technician to oversee construction activities at multiple worksites within a designated market. The role primarily supervises construction contractors in the field, plans and implements construction efforts, and reports field progress to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager to help ensure projects meet their estimated timelines. The technician is responsible for construction quality and for ensuring company standards and best practices are followed throughout the construction cycle. The role participates in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule and involves some overnight and daily travel. The position is onsite in the office five days each week.

Requirements

At least 2 years of fiber, telecommunications, right-of-way (ROW), or relevant construction experience.
Ability to lead a crew to completion in accordance with schedules, customer requirements, and budget guidelines.
Excellent understanding of construction and permitting prints.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
Basic experience using Microsoft Excel formulas, Word, and Outlook.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Some overnight and daily travel is expected.

Responsibilities

Oversee construction activities at worksites and supervise field construction contractors.
Plan, implement, and oversee construction efforts across several worksites in the designated market.
Report field progress to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager and help ensure projects are completed within estimated timelines.
Ensure construction activities meet quality expectations and follow company standards and best practices.
Help monitor and report inventory and material usage during the construction cycle.
Assist in identifying and troubleshooting construction problems and offer timely, safe solutions.
Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.
