About The Position

SpaceXSI is hiring a Construction Superintendent, Structural to lead a mobile, self-performing structural construction team. The superintendent directly oversees foremen who manage crews building structural steel, ironwork, metal deck, framing, elevated slabs, flooring systems, roofing, and other components of buildings. Crane and rigging work associated with raising structures, and welding of structural steel, are also within scope. The superintendent works on site to set expectations, maintain safety and quality standards, keep work moving, and address performance issues. The role supports an ongoing pipeline of SpaceX construction projects, including launch sites, factories, test stands, and AI superclusters. The current assignment is in Memphis, Tennessee / Southaven, Mississippi; the team relocates to future U.S. project sites as assignments change. Per diem is provided during assignments. The role is part of a 24/7 construction operation and may involve any shift, extended hours, holidays, rotating shifts, nights, and weekends. Night-shift assignments receive a shift differential for hours worked during off-nominal hours. The work takes place in industrial environments and can involve noise, heavy equipment, excavations, energized electrical systems, tight conditions, and heights, as well as physically demanding tasks indoors and outdoors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading structural construction teams, including supervision of foremen.
  • At least 3 years of direct hands-on experience with structural installations, including structural steel, ironwork, metal deck, framing, elevated slabs, flooring systems, roofing, or general building construction.
  • Willingness to work any shift, extended hours, and/or holidays, including rotating shifts, nights, and weekends.
  • Willingness to travel to assigned projects and relocate to other U.S. construction sites as assignments change.
  • Willingness to work in industrial environments with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, excavations, and energized electrical systems.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more and perform physically demanding tasks indoors or outdoors, in tight conditions and/or at heights, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug screening, random drug and alcohol testing, and pre-employment and post-employment background checks.

  • Experience using Procore, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar tools on complex infrastructure work.
  • Strong understanding of structural critical paths, sequencing, and coordination with electrical, mechanical, and civil trades through commissioning.
  • Understanding of data center structural requirements, including steel frames, elevated slabs, flooring systems, roofing, and load paths designed for heavy equipment and 24/7 operation.
  • History of leading diverse crews to deadlines while maintaining collaboration and safety.
  • Working knowledge of fall protection, crane and rigging, and structural welding safety, and a record of building a safety culture on regulated sites.
