About The Position

First Coast Security is hiring an unarmed Security Officer for a construction site. The officer will monitor access points, conduct patrols, assist workers and visitors, and respond to safety or security concerns while remaining alert in an active outdoor environment. The position requires following post orders and documenting important activities. It is described as long-term. Once construction is complete, the officer will transition to ongoing interior, exterior, and gate security operations to help maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and the property. First Coast Security provides comprehensive training to help new officers obtain a state guard card and First Aid/CPR/AED certification, along with hands-on, on-the-job learning. Requirements

Be able to obtain an Unarmed Professional Security License as required by the state.
Be able to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Pass a drug screening, driving record check, and background check.
Be authorized to work in the United States.
Be at least 18 years old.
Have proficient English communication, reading, and writing skills.
Be able to meet physical demands, including occasional lifting up to 40 pounds and bending, climbing, running, walking, and standing for long periods as needed.
High school diploma or GED.
State Guard Card.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Nice To Haves

Previous security, customer service, military, or law enforcement experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Remain alert to construction-related hazards, including heavy equipment and restricted areas, and adapt to changing site conditions and inclement weather.
Report hazards and suspicious activity, complete daily logs and incident reports, and respond to emergencies according to post orders.
Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors.
Patrol the site and staff assigned posts; monitor access points and construction activity to support controlled access and safety compliance.
Transition to interior, exterior, and gate security duties once construction is complete.
