About The Position
Rules keep a site compliant. People keep it safe. We're looking for Construction Safety Officers who pair deep knowledge of Provincial OH&S legislation with the influence and coaching skills to change habits, not just enforce rules. If you can walk a site, spot a risk before it becomes an incident, and get a crew to genuinely buy in — we want to talk. Now hiring for Vancouver and Coquitlam.
Requirements
- 2 or more (2+) years related experience in a safety position acquired in a construction setting
- Advanced First Aid (OFA Level 3) is a must
- Experience in residential construction within a General Contractor
- CSO designation and/or National Construction Safety Officer or similar accreditation through a recognized training authority
Nice To Haves
- Additional training in safety an asset including but not limited to, WHMIS, CSTS, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform etc.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and enhance safety by tracking issues, maintaining records of incidents, and suggesting improvements
- Document and track issues and potential risks in our safety management software (Hammertech)
- Conduct orientations, training, and safety coordination for workers and subcontractors
- Perform safety inspections, hazard assessments, and provide guidance on tool and equipment usage
- Lead emergency response, manage First Aid resources, investigate incidents, and collaborate on safety record management
