About The Position

The Safety Officer supports a Job Corps program by helping maintain the safety and security of the center, its grounds, facilities, people, and vehicles. The role includes conducting inspections and security checks, responding to fires and incidents, providing first aid and CPR as needed, and assisting with de-escalation. The Safety Officer also completes accurate security, vehicle, and transportation documentation and logs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Two years of related experience in CPR/First Aid.

Nice To Haves

• One year of security or law enforcement experience, or successful military experience.
• Commercial driver's license with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical inspections and security checks of the grounds and facility, and document the results.
• Report fires and assist in suppressing them.
• Investigate incidents on the center and prepare clear, accurate reports.
• Perform first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as needed.
• Control disturbances and help staff de-escalate volatile situations.
• Perform routine inspections of the General Services Administration fleet vehicles.
• Complete required security, vehicle, and transportation logs, documentation, and records accurately and on time.
• Log and search employees, visitors, vendors, and students as they enter and exit the center.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
