Safety Manager - Reno, NV
About The Position
The Construction Safety Manager will support a drywall and framing contractor on a large-scale data center construction project in Reno, Nevada. The role oversees daily safety operations, ensures compliance with site-specific safety requirements, and maintains a strong field presence. The manager works closely with project leadership, supervisors, and craft personnel to identify hazards, reduce risk exposure, and promote a proactive safety culture through frequent jobsite interaction, routine inspections, and hands-on coaching. The position emphasizes fall protection, scaffolding, elevated work activities, material handling, incident prevention, and regulatory compliance throughout the project. It is a contract assignment expected to last 6+ months, with an immediate start. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with weekends as needed. Compensation is $52–$56 per hour, plus $150 per day in per diem, paid seven days per week; pay is weekly.
Requirements
- OSHA 30 Construction certification.
- At least 5 years of construction safety experience.
- BCSP certification (required).
- Strong knowledge of fall protection systems.
- Experience with scaffolding safety requirements.
- Knowledge of material handling and construction risk management.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to maintain a strong field presence throughout the project.
- Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Ability to lead orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
- Experience reviewing JHAs, permits, and pre-task plans.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with field personnel.
- Ability to maintain accurate safety documentation and compliance records.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction safety programs, hazard recognition, OSHA compliance, contractor management, and field-based safety leadership.
