About The Position
Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., is hiring a full-time Construction Permit Specialist in the Arlington, Virginia area. The role provides customer support and processes building permit applications, including reviewing submissions, calculating and collecting fees, verifying approvals, and coordinating documents for plan review. The specialist helps applicants complete forms, communicates when documents or permits are ready, and assists with resident inquiries and complaints.
Requirements
- Hold current Virginia DHCD certification.
- Hold ICC Permit Technician certification.
- Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer support at the counter and over the phone.
- Review permit applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Calculate and collect permit fees.
- Process and issue building permits.
- Ensure all conditions of approvals are met prior to issuance.
- Assist the public with completing permit applications.
- Verify all necessary project approvals are obtained.
- Notify applicants when construction documents and/or permits are ready.
- Coordinate and route documents for plan review and approval.
- Help resolve resident inquiries and complaints.
