About The Position
Constellation is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Permit Specialist to oversee the acquisition of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing permits across state and local jurisdictions. The role requires an advanced understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing codes. The specialist ensures company trade licenses and insurance documentation remain current and compliant with regulations. The position is office-based, in a team environment, and is not hybrid.
Requirements
- Proven experience in permit management, preferably in the electrical, HVAC, and plumbing industries.
- Strong knowledge of state and local permit regulations and requirements.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in team environments.
- 10 years of experience in permit management or a trade-related role.
- Ability to manage, motivate, mentor, train, and coach individuals and teams to maximize performance.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing codes.
Nice To Haves
- Master's trade license in HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical.
Responsibilities
- Obtain, manage, and renew permits for electrical, HVAC, and plumbing projects across state and local jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
- Maintain current and valid company trade licenses and accurate permit and license records.
- Coordinate with project managers and contractors to ensure timely and complete permit acquisition.
- Review project submissions to verify permit readiness and alignment with company best practices and qualifications.
- Monitor changes in permitting requirements and guide the team on permitting processes and regulatory updates.
- Build and maintain working relationships with inspectors and jurisdictional authorities.
- Manage, motivate, mentor, train, and coach individuals and teams to maximize performance.
