About The Position

Braun Intertec is seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Testing Technician for its Duluth, Minnesota office. The technician will learn to perform testing on construction materials, including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt, at commercial and transportation construction projects. The role includes in-depth technical training and opportunities to earn industry certifications after successfully completing examinations and demonstrating ability. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and able to lift 50–75+ pounds. Employees are encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company-provided training and mentoring. All new hires must complete a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report. Braun Intertec is a Drug-Free Workplace.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the last three years.
Ability to lift 50–75+ pounds.
Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical concepts.
Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Perform field density tests of soils.
Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and strength tests.
Prepare daily reports.
Work with project managers and senior technicians or staff to ensure specifications are followed.
Perform routine sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt, and assist with more complex tasks as required.
