Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician (Entry Level)
About The Position
Braun Intertec is hiring an entry-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to support projects in the Haslet and Justin, Texas, areas. The home office is in Grapevine, Texas, and work takes place at project sites throughout the greater Fort Worth area. The technician will learn to test construction materials—including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt—on commercial and transportation construction projects. The position includes technical training and the opportunity to earn industry certifications after successfully completing examinations and demonstrating ability. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and lifting 50–75+ pounds. Braun Intertec encourages employees to expand their skills and certifications through company-provided training and mentoring. New hires must complete a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report.
Requirements
- Strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical concepts.
- Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Obtain ACI Field Level I and Radiation certifications within six months of hire.
- Microsoft Office experience or ability to learn.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and ability to lift 50–75+ pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Related work experience in materials testing or construction.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform field density tests of soils.
- Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and strength.
- Prepare daily reports.
- Work with project managers and senior technicians or staff to ensure specifications are followed.
- Perform routine sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt, and assist with more complex tasks as required.
