About The Position

Olsson is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to join its CMT Team. The role helps ensure the quality, safety, and longevity of materials used in construction projects by analyzing materials such as concrete, soil, and asphalt to assess their strength, composition, and performance. Accurate results help clients meet regulatory requirements and support the structural integrity and long-term success of their projects. The technician conducts routine laboratory testing of construction materials, prepares specimens, and maintains high quality-control standards under the guidance of senior technical staff. The position also offers the opportunity to pursue technician certifications through industry organizations such as the American Concrete Institute (ACI). The ideal candidate has prior CMT lab experience, particularly testing soils and aggregates, and is eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.

Requirements

1 to 5 years of construction materials testing experience, preferably in a laboratory environment with soils and aggregates testing.
Willingness to pursue and obtain technician certifications.
Understanding of AMRL accreditation and its importance in maintaining high standards in construction materials testing.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Strong communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
High school diploma or GED.
