About The Position

MacKay is seeking a part-time Construction Materials Testing Technician I to join its team in Raton, New Mexico. The technician performs quality control services, including soil density testing and observing constructed civil works. The role determines the characteristics of constructed materials in accordance with project plans and specifications, identifies defects before completion and release, and ensures compliance with safety procedures. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–3 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to safely lift and drag equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to perform calculations involving proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
