About The Position

MT Group, an Intertek company, is seeking a Field Construction Material Testing Technician for its Building & Construction team in Edgewood, New York. The team provides assurance, testing, inspection, certification, and building science services to the architectural, engineering, and construction industry, both in laboratories and on site. Under direct supervision and/or detailed controlled procedures, the Field Technician performs testing, project-specific observations, and site assessments. The role operates testing equipment, conducts tests such as soil and concrete testing, evaluates and reports data, and works from drawings, specifications, diagrams, and work plans. The technician documents test results, communicates with clients and project teams, and follows safety practices. No prior experience is required; training is provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
No experience required; training will be provided.
Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and understand work plans.
Ability and willingness to work off shifts and overtime.
Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
Reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites.

Nice To Haves

Applicable certification in at least one area, such as concrete, reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, or spray-applied fireproofing.

Responsibilities
