About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician (I) to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in La Porte, Texas. This role offers a career opportunity in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, offering services such as construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Construction Materials Testing Field Technician (I) is responsible for performing various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or detailed controlled procedures.

Requirements

• Experience working hands-on, doing physical labor, in an outdoor work environment
• Experience working in the construction industry (or relevant)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Must possess, or be able to obtain prior to hire, a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card
• Must be able to obtain and maintain client-required site access credentials, including petrochemical and port facility access
• Must meet all Intertek and client site pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to criminal background, urinalysis, and hair follicle drug test

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Construction Material Testing (CMT) experience
• ACI / NICET Certifications
• Plant experience

Responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
