Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associates degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Geology, Construction Technology, or a related field preferred
Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements
Ability to lift and move soil and/or concrete samples as required
Interest in soils, construction materials testing, and laboratory work
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow testing procedures accurately
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
Employees must be at least 21 years of age to operate a company vehicle in accordance with company vehicle insurance requirements

Responsibilities

Retrieve and transport soil and/or concrete samples from project sites and branch offices to our laboratory facility in Alpha, NJ
Support construction materials laboratory operations, including sample preparation, general laboratory upkeep and organization, and documentation of test results for engineers and project managers
Monitor concrete sample curing conditions and maintain testing schedules
Operate laboratory equipment used for compression testing and materials preparation
Maintain accurate laboratory records, testing logs, and documentation
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace and assist with routine maintenance of testing equipment
Follow established safety procedures and company standards during all laboratory and field activities
Perform field testing of construction materials (soils, concrete, and steel) on an occasional as-needed basis
Perform other duties as assigned under the direction of the Laboratory Manager
