About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Lead Technician to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role supports the Building and Construction business by coordinating, managing, monitoring, and performing assigned laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will effectively manage and perform necessary testing while providing exceptional customer service. Professional Service Industries, Inc. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years' experience working in a material testing laboratory
  • ACI Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and basic computer knowledge
  • Moderate lifting required as part of day-to-day job functions
  • ACI, FDOT, ICC and/or NICET level 1 certifications required to manage an CMEC accredited laboratory

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree from a technical or four-year school
  • Experience managing a construction materials laboratory is highly
  • ACI or MoDOT Certifications in any of the following: Concrete Strength, Aggregate Base, Aggregate Testing
  • CTQP Certified LBR Testing Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Enter data gathered from laboratory tests into reports
  • Maintain and develop laboratory testing programs
  • Handle laboratory equipment, including performing equipment calibrations and tracking equipment maintenance
  • Must understand ASTM standards, AASHTO, and USACE documentation
  • This position will require the physical laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with applicable ASTM procedures
  • Technical competence to interpret and effectively communicate test procedures, specifications and results with team members, customers, consultants, and specifiers
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of all equipment, test methods / methodology and applicable specifications associated with areas of responsibility
  • Experience and skills that facilitates an understanding of computers and software to perform the job duties efficiently and effectively
