Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation, conduit bending, wiring, and blueprint reading.
  • Experience managing field employees, assigning tasks, and overseeing project timelines.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and electrical codes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management tools.
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master or Journeyman Electrician License.
  • NCCER Certification in Electrical or Instrumentation.
  • Previous experience managing electrical crews in an industrial or commercial setting.
  • Experience with construction estimating and cost tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of electrical installation workers, personally or through subordinate superintendents.
  • Plan, schedule, allocate, and manage labor for electrical installation projects in collaboration with Project Managers, Account Managers, and the Service Manager.
  • Source, screen, and hire qualified electrical personnel, verifying prior employment experience.
  • Establish goals and measure results for labor, costs, materials, travel, schedules, deadlines, and customer satisfaction.
  • Determine starting pay rates and recommend employee pay changes.
  • Conduct performance reviews of department personnel and solicit feedback from field employees.
  • Review and verify licensing for all electricians, acting as the "qualifying party" for company licensing and staying updated on requirements in all states.
  • Ensure procurement of tools, equipment, and materials according to work schedules.
  • Issue, replace, and repair tools assigned to installation personnel and track assets.
  • Review and approve weekly payroll submissions, working with Project Managers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Establish processes for assigning and maintaining service trucks, including maintenance, inspections, licenses, and registrations.
  • Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating phases to prevent delays.
  • Manage employee relations and morale within the Construction Department, resolving complaints and recognizing achievements.
  • Schedule safety training and ensure personnel have necessary training for electrical installation work.
  • Travel to job sites to inspect electrical work for quality and adherence to schedules.
  • Ensure installation activities comply with federal, state, and local electrical rules and regulations.
  • Assist with corporate facility maintenance by scheduling personnel for electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist with electrical installation estimating as required.
