Requirements

  • Experience on public works projects such as Buildings, facilities, and site; Aviation and airfield work; Roadways and highways; Underground utilities (water, sewer, drainage); Bridges and structures; Water and wastewater facilities
  • Understand how projects are built
  • Be trusted in the field, stays organized, and communicates clearly with both the contractor and the client
  • Approximately 10+ years of construction inspection or related experience
  • Strong public works and public agency experience
  • Familiar with materials testing (soils, concrete, asphalt)
  • Able to read plans and understand construction sequencing
  • Approximately 10+ years of construction management experience on public works projects
  • Experience delivering projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Comfortable leading teams and serving as the client’s point of contact
  • Strong understanding of budgets, schedules, and project controls
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as ACI, ICC, IMSA, ATTSA, NASSCO, IMSA etc.
  • OSHA 30 or ability to obtain
  • Comfortable using project management software
  • Nevada public agency experience
  • PE, CCM, AIA or PMP

Responsibilities

  • Field inspection on active construction projects
  • Daily reports, quantity tracking, and documentation of work performed
  • Reading and interpreting plans, specs, and special provisions
  • Coordinating with contractors, labs, and the project team
  • Tracking materials testing and understanding results
  • Assisting with submittments, RFIs, and basic project documentation
  • Participating in meetings and helping keep communication moving
  • Constructability / Biddability review
  • Lead project teams and work directly with the client
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and overall project delivery
  • Run meetings and coordinate with designers, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Oversee submittals, RFIs, change management, and project controls
  • Support proposals, client relationships, and future work
  • Ability to oversee inspectors and perform inspections
