About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee projects within a petrochemical facility. This role manages day-to-day construction activities and small capital upgrade projects ranging from $10,000-$1M. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of construction field experience, preferably within Oil & Gas, electrical & instrumentation (E&I), refinery, industrial, or manufacturing environments. This role is a 100% on-site role in New Albany, New York. The Construction Manager oversees daily field operations, ensuring work aligns with quality, performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include planning and implementing construction tasks, managing procurement of materials and subcontractors, conducting daily site inspections, monitoring progress against cost and schedule requirements, and ensuring all drawings, permits, and certifications required for compliance are in place. This role maintains transparent communication with Project Managers, owners, site leadership, and HS&W teams to drive issue resolution and support a proactive safety culture. SAP experience is required. Under the client’s direction, the Construction Manager will coordinate with the general contractor and architect/engineering teams on all construction-related activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of construction or project management experience
  • SAP experience is required
  • Degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to build productive working relationships
  • Resourceful problem-solver with strong execution discipline

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations, ensuring work aligns with quality, performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Plan and implement construction tasks.
  • Manage procurement of materials and subcontractors.
  • Conduct daily site inspections.

  • Ensure all drawings, permits, and certifications required for compliance are in place.

  • Coordinate with the general contractor and architect/engineering teams on all construction-related activities.
  • Coordinate site layout and design (roads, infrastructure, utilities).
  • Conduct constructability reviews, cost/schedule risk identification, and reporting.
  • Lead Turner & Townsend’s on-site project team.
  • Coordinate with vendors, architects, engineers, suppliers, and GC partners.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and AHJ requirements.
  • Ensure strong HS&W performance.
  • Support development of the Minimum Functionality Case and enhancement opportunities.
  • Contribute to value-engineering efforts.
  • Identify long-lead procurement items and provide market insight.
  • Assist with preparation of RFPs for GC and commissioning services.
  • Establish success criteria (schedule, cost, technical, safety, quality).
  • Review design and construction drawings for constructability and compliance.
  • Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Assist with baseline schedule development and progress reporting.
  • Participate in criticality assessments.
  • Coordinate with AHJs, developers, and utilities.
  • Review product data submittments.
  • Support commissioning plan development.
  • Review RFIs and submittals.
  • Review GC and subcontractor schedules for alignment with contract requirements.
  • Provide oversight through regular site visits and field progress evaluations.
  • Attend daily/weekly construction and coordination meetings.
  • Report on overall construction effort and performance.
  • Compare schedule progress against field production.
  • Coordinate cost/schedule reporting and dashboards.
  • Ensure documentation is uploaded to the client’s system of record.
  • Support issue tracking, punch list resolution, inspections, and testing activities.
  • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
