About The Position

This internship provides an opportunity to work with a project management team, assisting with the coordination, maintenance, and management of documentation for permanent project records. The role involves supporting various aspects of multifamily construction projects, including document control, log maintenance, on-site activity coordination, and schedule management. The intern will gain experience interpreting construction documents, assisting project staff, and ensuring compliance with contract documents and safety regulations. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in construction management.

Requirements

  • Procore knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 application suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Familiarity working with MS Project, P6, or similar scheduling software.
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact and relate effectively, productively, and positively with other associates.
  • Must be able to travel locally to project sites as needed.
  • Work in excess of 40 hours per week is likely.
  • Consistent, regular, and in-person attendance during assigned hours at the workplace are required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordination, maintenance, and management of documentation for permanent project records, including submittal packages, shop drawings, safety manuals, SDS files, change orders, and inspection reports.
  • Assist with the maintenance of project logs, such as inspection reporting, compliance letters, and subcontractor correspondence.
  • Assist in coordinating on-site construction activities for multifamily construction projects.
  • Interpret design/drawings, specifications, submittals, and other construction documents.
  • Assist Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Coordinators with project-related technical and logistical functions.
  • Assist the Superintendent team with the development, management, and maintenance of the project schedule.
  • Track project milestone dates and work with the project team to manage activities required to achieve them.
  • Develop knowledge of all contracts, subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, show drawings, schedules, labor agreements, and local codes.
  • Under supervision, contribute to the management of onsite work to ensure installation compliance with approved contract documents.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings with all trades to review scope of work and establish expectations for production.
  • Promote and maintain onsite job safety standards and applicable safety codes and regulations by enforcing the project-specific safety program.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and take remedial action when required.
  • Participate in site testing and inspection procedures.
  • Assist with the management of building permits, inspections, and final walk-throughs.
  • Complete applicable field documentation for daily reports, meeting minutes, drawings, RFIs, etc., as assigned.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned or directed.
