About The Position

Duke Energy, a Fortune 150 company and one of the largest electric power holding companies in the U.S., is seeking students for its Construction Management Co-op Rotational Program. This program offers students the opportunity to gain diverse work experiences through two to three sessions in different departments, focusing on Transmission Work Management, Construction Management, and Project Management. The program aims to build a smarter energy future and drive the transition to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Students will work closely with a program coordinator to plan future rotations, which can occur in Spring, Summer, or Fall. The program emphasizes career development, growth within a reputable industry leader, and a healthy work-life balance.

Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Construction Management.
Must not graduate prior to August 2027.
Cumulative college GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Ability to work full-time for the 16-week co-op duration.
Must be available to work 40 hours per week throughout the program.
Must possess all of the basic/required qualifications.
Must be able to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

Gain experience in scheduling, strategic oversight of work plans, and resource allocation within Work Management.
Work with teams responsible for the successful execution of construction or maintenance projects, including resource analysis and workforce planning.
Support various transmission groups in the planning and execution of construction-related activities, including contributing to the scheduling of work activities.
Track construction production and status in the field to ensure contractors are meeting schedule.
Act as a liaison between contractors and Duke teams (Engineers, Project Managers) to ensure safety, financial, reliability, and schedule goals are met.
Contribute to the strategic direction, leadership, and management of various projects, focusing on resource allocation, cost control, and scheduling.
Gain an understanding of project lifecycle management and cross-departmental coordination.
Participate in the design and analysis of structures, systems, and facilities within Duke Energy’s Transmission department.
Develop skills in managing project timelines, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring efficient project execution.
Work with engineers, construction teams, and project managers to support project goals and milestones.
