Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for planning, coordinating, and directing overall activities related to the construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of state-owned or state leased buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment. In this role, they will manage and supervise construction/maintenance technicians and licensed trades specialists and/or others or may oversee contracted crews, workers, and other individuals hired that perform work on both new construction/renovation and the upkeep of existing state properties. In addition to the assigned administrator responsibilities, incumbents may perform work related to the required construction/renovation and/or upkeep of the assigned area. At this level employees are assigned administrator responsibilities involving general maintenance work and the completion of various activities related to heating and air conditioning, plumbing repairs, electrical work, general repair and upkeep, custodial services and similar requirements of multiple buildings and/or in an agency’s defined geographical area. The work required may be achieved by incumbent preforming the work or through contracted employees.
