About The Position

CLMI Group is seeking passionate construction professionals for the role of Construction Logistics Specialist IV (CALM Night Shift Area Resident Manager) at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). This on-site position involves overseeing night shift construction activities within the Central Terminal Area (CTA), Terminals, Landside, and Airside/AOA locations. The role requires a high level of responsibility, including leading nightly huddles, performing site checks, ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols, and producing detailed nightly reports. The specialist will collaborate with various airport stakeholders to facilitate orderly shutdowns and minimize disruption. This position is ideal for an experienced construction management professional comfortable working overnight in a safety-sensitive, highly regulated airport environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of twenty (20) years of Construction Management field experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of airport experience, or five (5) years of experience in other critical environment facilities.
  • Ability to assume additional responsibilities beyond the role outlined.
  • Proven accuracy, reliability, priority-setting, and completeness in job accomplishment.
  • Demonstrated planning, controlling, organizing, and leadership skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Must be able to work under pressure on high-profile, complicated assignments.
  • Ability to understand the design and construction intent of projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Proficient in Adobe software (Acrobat, InDesign).
  • Able to review and edit documents in Bluebeam.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project for schedule tracking and reporting.
  • Must pass a federal background check.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Nightly Huddle with Airport Operations support and distributes relevant bulletins and maps.
  • Performs Site Checks at active construction locations, verifying personnel, ASR compliance, barricading, signage, and delivery schedules.
  • Contacts LAWA Airport Police and Airport Operations to remove unauthorized vehicles or equipment.
  • Takes and labels photographs of deployed projects, capturing key details of operations and environment.
  • Produces a Nightly Report with narrative and photographic components, posting and distributing it to stakeholders.
  • Maintains thorough familiarity with the scope and schedule of all active projects within the CTA, Terminals, and AOA.
  • Ensures all construction in public areas has appropriate barricades and signage per ASR, working with contractors and the CALM Sign Shop Manager.
  • Works with various airport groups (TDG, FMUG, OPS, TSA, IMTG, Safety/Inspections, Airport Police) to develop protocols for orderly shutdowns.
  • Meets regularly with the CALM Area Resident Manager – Lead to make recommendations and develop tracking tools.
