About The Position

The Survey Technician performs electrical layout and as-built survey work in the field accurately and on time, as directed. The role involves interpreting engineered drawings, collecting as-built data, and providing work control lines and elevations to support accurate measurement and installation of materials by field staff. The technician reports to assigned job sites as directed and complies with company and job safety requirements. Work is outdoors on construction sites in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• High school graduate, holder of a G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience.
• Proficiency in survey data collection, including setting up and operating GPS receivers and robotic total stations.
• Demonstrated ability to read construction plans and specifications.
• Strong mathematical background and ability to perform calculations associated with surveying.
• Strong administrative, computer (Word and Excel), and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of land survey and/or construction experience is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Revit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineered drawings.
• Operate Topcon/GPS and Total Station data collectors with minimal supervision.
• Collect as-built data.
• Report punctually to assigned job site locations as directed.
• Understand and comply with company and job safety requirements.
• Work outdoors on construction sites in all weather conditions.
• Provide work control lines and elevations needed for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by field staff.
