About The Position

The Construction Laborer is responsible for supporting renovation, repair, rehabilitation, and property-improvement projects through general construction labor and multi-trade assistance. Responsibilities include demolition, cleanup, material handling, measuring, cutting, assembling, installation support, jobsite organization, and assisting carpentry and properly licensed plumbing, electrical, and HVAC professionals while following all safety, supervision, and scope-of-work requirements. Perform selective demolition, debris removal, cleanup, hauling, sorting, and lawful disposal of materials. Assist with framing, drywall, trim, doors, cabinets, flooring, painting, caulking, weatherproofing, and punch-list work. Support properly licensed plumbing, electrical, and HVAC professionals with material handling, staging, access preparation, fixture or equipment placement, testing assistance, labeling, and cleanup. Measure, cut, drill, fasten, assemble, move, and install materials within assigned skill level and authorization. Load and unload vehicles and maintain accountability for tools, equipment, and materials. Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites and protect occupied areas during construction activities. Follow project plans, measurements, written instructions, supervisor direction, safety procedures, permit requirements, applicable codes, and manufacturer requirements. Photograph work progress and complete required daily work records. Immediately report safety hazards, property damage, equipment concerns, and jobsite issues to the appropriate supervisor. Perform only work within the employee’s authorized scope and demonstrated skill level. Respond to changing project needs, urgent jobsite issues, and additional construction or property-support assignments as directed. Assist with material movement, loading and unloading, cleanup, site preparation, and other project-support tasks as needed. Support work at different assigned project locations based on operational and project requirements. Address or immediately report safety hazards, property damage, equipment concerns, or other unexpected jobsite conditions. Perform additional duties within the employee’s demonstrated skill level, authorized scope, and applicable safety and licensing requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with common hand and power tools used in construction and renovation work.
  • Working knowledge of multiple building trades, including carpentry, drywall, flooring, painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC support.
  • Ability to accurately follow measurements, project plans, written instructions, and supervisor direction.
  • Strong attention to safety, jobsite organization, and proper handling of tools and materials.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned general labor tasks and effectively support skilled and licensed trade professionals.
  • Dependability, punctuality, professionalism, and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to identify and promptly report hazards, property damage, equipment concerns, and jobsite issues.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in construction, renovation, maintenance, or property rehabilitation preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with common hand and power tools and working knowledge of multiple building trades.
  • Ability to follow project plans, measurements, written instructions, and supervisor direction.
  • Reliable transportation to assigned project locations required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record preferred.
  • OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid, and applicable trade credentials are preferred but not required.
