About The Position

Advocate Construction is looking for collaborative, energetic team players to join us as Field Operations Assistants in the Kansas City, KS metro area and suburbs. This role is designed for someone with a couple of years of steady work experience who is eager to learn the construction industry from the ground up. You will act as the crucial lifeline for our daily operations, handling materials, permits, and job site safety. As our Field Operations Assistant you are the engine that keeps daily projects running smoothly! In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with multiple teams across the company, gaining hands-on experience and building a solid foundation for a long-term career in the construction industry. This is a full-time role. Your daily focus will be independently managing your time to fulfill service requests both in the field and at the office.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening and criminal background check.
  • The physical stamina to safely lift, carry, and maneuver construction materials weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • A willingness to work actively outdoors and thrive in various seasonal weather conditions.
  • A "get the job done" mentality, which includes the willingness to work occasional non-traditional hours (such as evenings or weekends) when needed to support the team.
  • The ability to occasionally travel to company training events or assist at other regional offices as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a customer service role is highly preferred; you must be able to represent the company professionally when interacting directly with our customers.
  • A proven history of good attendance, independent time management, and working safely with minimal direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing our internal ticketing system to track, prioritize, and complete daily service requests.
  • Preparing and maintaining company fleet trucks for the day's operations.
  • Driving company vehicles to active job sites to deliver materials, drop off permits, and capture project progress photos.
  • Collecting unused materials from completed jobs and securely processing returns and picking up materials from vendors.
  • Conducting pre- and final post-project sweeps (including running magnetic sweepers to clear nails and debris) to ensure a safe, clean environment for our customers.
  • Acting as a professional face of the company while interacting with homeowners and securely picking up final payments.
