About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineering Sr. Manager to be based in Oakland, CA. This role provides guidance to employees within established policies and establishes procedures that affect the immediate organization. The position works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of a situation or data requires evaluating a variety of factors, including understanding current business trends. The Sr. Manager acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems and may have budget responsibilities. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results can add to costs and may impact short-term organizational goals. The role oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle, including technical, financial, and client satisfaction aspects. It is accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of planning, design, and/or construction management activities and personnel under the individual's direction on a day-to-day basis.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 10 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • 2 years of leadership experience
  • Driving is required for this position - MVR check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Resident Engineer
  • Large infrastructure experience in Road and Bridge construction
  • PE in the state of California

Responsibilities

  • Performing the duties of a Construction Manager, including, but not limited to: Roadway construction inspection, quantity calculations, checking grade and alignment, labor compliance interviews, traffic control review, and assuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Identifying actual and potential problems associated with the construction projects.
  • Working and recommending sound engineering solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining an awareness of safety and health requirements and assuring compliance with applicable regulations and construction contract provisions for the protection of the public and construction project personnel.
  • Preparing quantity calculations, records, reports, and correspondence related to construction project activities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of final As-Built plans and reports at the completion of construction.
  • Performing and assisting in all aspects of required office construction engineering work including setting up and maintaining project files, processing required documents and progress payments, as necessary.
  • Performing the Inspection and compliance monitoring of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)/Best Management Practices (BMP).
