About The Position

The Construction Division Manager will lead the Construction Division forward, inspiring a team of professionals to build upon Primera’s strong history of delivering roadway, DOT, and infrastructure projects. This role contributes to Primera’s strategic planning process to develop, prioritize, and execute strategic goals and initiatives, including the expansion of construction management, resident engineering, inspection, and infrastructure services. The manager will cascade the strategic plan through reinforcing communication to the division and development of effective key manager and employee goals. They will lead the development of key relationships with clients, partner firms, contractors, and subconsultants, and may also lead strategic, high visibility client projects. The role is accountable for the success of the division, including developing and managing a budget and action plans to achieve division revenue and profit targets. Responsibilities include monitoring and acting to ensure project profitability, payment, field performance, safety, and client satisfaction, as well as identifying and implementing improvement actions for division processes, tools, technology, documentation standards, and construction delivery practices. The manager will enhance the company's reputation by ensuring that management systems, construction procedures, safety expectations, and quality processes are followed and continually improved, and will act promptly to identify and manage risks and opportunities in achieving client satisfaction and successful project delivery. Additionally, the role fosters an environment of knowledge sharing, technical expertise, field leadership, and construction best practices, models the performance review process for direct reports, and mentors managers to build strong, healthy, engaged teams. Establishing development and succession plans for key positions and identifying key hires while actively participating in sourcing and recruiting are also key functions. Requirements

  • At least 20 years of diversified engineering and construction management experience.
  • At least ten years managing a team responsible for the construction management, resident engineering, inspection, and delivery of roadway, DOT, and infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Licensed professional engineer.
  • Deep construction experience with IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, counties, municipalities, and other agencies.
  • Advanced leadership and communication skills.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business plans that drive growth and profitability.

  • Master’s degree or relevant construction management certifications.
