The Construction Administrator serves as a direct liaison during the construction process for public/state construction projects. McAdams is a full-service land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, and geomatics firm located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Florida. Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Land Development and Utility Construction
  • Experience with project management and scheduling software (Procore, PIM, MS Project, etc.)
  • Experience with site and utility construction estimation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with North Carolina State Construction Office is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Read site civil plans with an understanding of site civil work sequence (Grading + Site Utilities + Stormwater Control Measures)
  • Communicate effectively with field construction personnel and design staff on progress or issues
  • Observe required standard utility testing for municipal and regulatory authority compliance
  • Prepare bid packages, administer local/state bid process through the selection of contractors
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients by conducting pre-construction/progress meetings and processing pay applications from contractors
  • Evaluate contractor change orders and negotiate them to the best price possible on behalf of clients
  • Perform thorough site inspections, document progress, and plan compliance for the client
  • Understand project specifications and construction plans to manage site construction projects on behalf of our clients
  • Apply technical skills to review shop drawings, perform water, sewer, stormwater conveyance inspections, testing and acceptance
  • Provide constructability reviews of project plans as assigned
  • Participate in hydrant flow tests and confined space inspections
  • Apply current accessibility standards in the evaluation of accessible route compliance
  • Prepare preliminary site civil cost estimates and bond estimates for projects as assigned/required
  • Follow guidelines and company standards set forth by the Construction Administration department
  • Aids in maintaining a safe and respectful work environment by following company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for escalating potential hazards and unsafe working conditions
