About The Position

The National Audubon Society is a nonprofit conservation organization working to protect birds and the places they need. Audubon Florida’s Conservation Leadership Initiative (CLI) is a co-mentorship program connecting college students with Audubon grassroots leaders, conservation projects, and professional development opportunities. It aims to bridge current Audubon leaders and emerging conservationists, including people from underrepresented communities. The program enrolls 25 college students each fall and holds additional single-day events across Florida each spring. Under the supervision of the Chapters Conservation Manager, the seasonal assistant will support the current CLI cohort and help plan and host immersive college outreach events across Florida during the spring semester. Duties include administrative, communications, and program coordination work; supporting participants and mentors; coordinating with venues and guest speakers; and planning and facilitating field activities. The role calls for strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and comfort working collaboratively in a remote environment. This is a five-month seasonal position from January 2027 through May 2027, remote in Florida, at 20 hours per week. Applicants must be at least partially available during standard work hours, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, and must travel to three weekend events in different Florida cities during the spring academic semester. Compensation is $19.00 per hour. A cover letter describing interest in the role is required; applications without one will be considered incomplete.
