Requirements

  • University degree in actuarial science.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the group insurance field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint).
  • Mastery of spoken and written French and English.
  • Client, results, and action-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ease in developing good interpersonal relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently in the process of obtaining or already possess FSA and FCIA designations.
  • Proficiency in accounting evaluations related to retirement benefit plans.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support vice presidents in their client relationships.
  • Participate in quality control and adherence to service standards.
  • Participate in financial analyses and negotiation strategies with insurers during renewals.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for market entry exercises and actively participate in insurer selection.
  • Participate in actuarial evaluations related to post-retirement and other non-pension employment benefits.
  • Be perceived as an expert by peers and clients.
  • Participate in the development of various meetings with clients and insurers.
  • Participate in establishing budgets and deadlines for projects.
  • Be aware of other specialties and services of the firm.
  • Participate in continuous training and development processes and share learnings to contribute to the development of other team members.
  • Participate in various internal initiatives promoting innovation and team involvement.
  • Stay informed about current events and best practices, sharing this information with clients and team members.
  • Respond to client requests by providing relevant information and ensuring appropriate follow-ups.
  • Develop a client portfolio managed autonomously and actively participate in business development.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with clients.
  • Ensure quality management of their team (planning, billing, training/information, work/budget monitoring, performance evaluation).
