About The Position

The Connections Director at Church on the Rock oversees the First Impressions ministry, assimilation, and guest services. This position is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment where people can experience authentic joy, fellowship, connection, and community as they continue to grow in Christ.

Requirements

  • A born-again believer, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, and living under the lordship of Jesus Christ
  • Proficiency with or willingness to learn, tools such as Church Community Builder (U-Link), Microsoft 365, Teams, and Canva.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience coordinating events, managing databases, and supporting team collaboration
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Current screening form and background check on file

Responsibilities

  • Be available for Sunday services, ministry meetings, and special events.
  • Establish and resource the Welcome Center each week.
  • Work with pastoral oversight and Central Support to keep all information, handouts, and event resources up to date (especially during holidays).
  • Arrange for a qualified serve team member to cover your responsibilities for any Sunday or service you are unable to attend.
  • Submit Purchase Requests for Campus Pastor approval for all purchases over $350 within your area of responsibility, including reimbursements.
  • Partner with the Campus Pastor to create and manage the Connections ministry budget.
  • Ensure guest information from Connection Cards are given to Campus admin every Monday to be entered into COTR database.
  • Ensure guests receive a first-time follow-up call and ULink Process is completed.
  • Recruit and train serve teams for Greeters, Ushers and the Welcome Center.
  • Schedule Greeter, Usher and Welcome Center teams using COTR ULink and send reminders when schedules have not been accepted.
  • Maintain regular, relational communication with server teams and keep them informed of any upcoming events or holidays that will require additional support (i.e. Easter, and Christmas Eve candlelight services).
  • Ensure all serve team members have completed Ascent class, signed partnership, completed serve team process.
  • Ensure team members are able to assist guests with the COTR app, event sign-ups, and related needs.
  • Be present at least 30 minutes before and after Sunday services at the Welcome Center.
  • Answer questions regarding ministries and current events with confidence.
  • Be proficient in using the COTR app.
  • Provide COTR approved brochures and information.
  • Ensure Guest gifts are stocked in collaboration with Central Support.
  • Position at main entrance doors, warmly greet guests, and provide direction as needed. (e.g., new family check-in, children’s ministry, coffee, etc.).
  • When possible position greeters throughout the lobby towards Auditorium doors.
  • Be stationed at auditorium doors to welcome and assist guests (20-30 minutes before service until approximately 10 minutes after service).
  • Assist in seating guests and maintain awareness of available seating.
  • Oversee tithes & offerings protocols.
  • Live and serve in a manner worthy of your calling as a minister of the Gospel.
  • Demonstrate integrity in all public and private dealings.
  • Collaborate with humility and unity within your Campus Team, other ministry departments, and campuses.
  • Lead and care for others in a Christ-like manner.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Develop leaders and provide leadership within areas of responsibility.
  • Exercise discretion and sound judgment regarding sensitive information.
  • Manage additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Uphold a strong commitment to the purpose, vision, and values of Church on the Rock.
