About The Position

Joby is seeking a detail-oriented Conformity Coordinator to join its Airworthiness Team. The role supports compliance activities that contribute to the airworthiness of the aircraft fleet, working with multidisciplinary teams—including manufacturing and quality—to ensure aircraft meet conformity standards and maintain configuration during build and flight testing. The coordinator works with the Conformity Coordinator Lead and collaborates with manufacturing, quality, airworthiness, and configuration management teams. The position may require occasional travel.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in an aviation-related field, focused on quality assurance, manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Familiarity with aviation manufacturing and inspection processes.
Problem-solving, communication, coordination, and technical-writing skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory documents.
Proficiency with standard office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering background preferred.
Familiarity with aircraft conformity processes.
Experience with Type Certification, especially Part 23 or Part 27.
Further education or certifications in aviation maintenance, quality, or related technical fields.
Knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 27, and 29 regulations, policy, and guidance material.
Knowledge of ASTM, RTCA, and SAE standards.
Basic understanding of operations, pilot licensing, and mechanic licensing regulations and certification processes.
Familiarity with Dassault, Atlassian, and Polarian software tools.
Pilot experience or other experience with aircraft flight operations.
Familiarity with Smartsheets and JIRA.

Responsibilities

Track conformed units and installations on flight-test aircraft, and provide feedback and support for continuous improvement at the manufacturing facility.
Monitor aircraft deviations and non-conformances; document and escalate findings and support their timely disposition.
Work with the Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR) and provide documentation required to obtain airworthiness tickets.
Contribute to continuous improvement of conformity and configuration-maintenance activities.
Coordinate across manufacturing, quality, airworthiness, and configuration management to ensure aircraft configuration and conformity meet program objectives.
Resolve aircraft configuration and conformity issues on the manufacturing floor.
Guide manufacturing and quality team members on configuration control and conformity.
Serve as a point of contact at the aircraft in support of certification and TIA test flights.
Collaboratively identify and resolve issues with manufacturing, quality, and airworthiness teams.
Create reports and metrics to track conformity status and program progress.
