About The Position

CACI is seeking a Senior Configuration Management Specialist (ServiceNow) for the Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) contract, supporting the Department of State. The role supports a program of national importance by modernizing and maintaining applications and infrastructure through an integrated IT Service Management approach. The specialist leads asset and configuration management activities across a large, distributed environment and serves as a ServiceNow Asset Management and CMDB subject matter expert, guiding and mentoring junior specialists.

The position manages hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle, maintains inventory and licensing records in ServiceNow, develops workflows and reporting, and works with IT service delivery, procurement, and compliance teams. The role requires an active Secret clearance and involves up to 10% local travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience in a related field; equivalencies are considered.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Experience with ServiceNow Asset Management, CMDB, and ITSM modules, including workflow development and automation.
• Leadership experience managing enterprise-scale asset management programs supporting 10,000+ users and 50,000+ configuration items across distributed environments.
• Expert knowledge of software license management, compliance requirements, and licensing models including perpetual, subscription, and enterprise agreements.
• Leadership experience planning and leading asset management initiatives, serving as a subject matter expert, and supervising configuration management teams.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of State.
• ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – IT Asset Management, Certified System Administrator (CSA), or ServiceNow Certified Master Architect.
• Professional certifications such as ITIL Foundation, IAITAM Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), or CSAM.

Responsibilities

• Manage tracking of hardware and software shipping, receipt, installation, and deployment using ServiceNow CMDB and Asset Management modules across 350+ facilities.
• Direct the recording, tracking, and documentation of software license transfers during device refresh cycles and personnel changes, meeting two-business-day reporting requirements.
• Oversee a ServiceNow license data repository containing vendor information, licensing models, fees, and maintenance renewal dates for 50,000+ hardware units.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct audits of installed equipment and license assignments to confirm allocation and vendor-agreement compliance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Manage hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle, from procurement through disposal, and integrate software end-of-life planning.
• Manage distribution workflows, inventory tracking, and asset provisioning in coordination with Service Desk and technical support teams to maintain real-time CMDB accuracy.
• Develop ServiceNow workflows, automation rules, and business logic for asset processes, including lifecycle transitions, approval routing, and notifications.
• Generate asset management reports, dashboards, and analytics covering inventory status, license utilization, compliance metrics, and forecasts.
• Serve as a ServiceNow Asset Management and CMDB subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and mentoring junior configuration management specialists.
• Collaborate with IT service delivery teams, procurement specialists, and compliance officers on audit responses, license compliance reviews, and asset reconciliation.
