About The Position

The Gas Turbine Configuration Management (CM) organization translates product requirements and engineering design intent into actionable product definitions. Using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems, the organization delivers product definitions to global supply chain functions. The Order to Remittance (OTR) CM organization creates and maintains project structures and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for New Unit Requisitions from Order Release through the equipment’s Commercial Operation Date, and supports Conversion, Modification and Uprate (CMU) projects.

The Engineer – OTR Config Mgmt, Project Structuring ST/GEN generates and manages Flange to Flange (F2F) and accessories project structures for Steam Turbine and Generator products, and manages ST/GEN CMU BOMs. The position creates and maintains Engineering BOMs (EBOMs) and Unit BOMs, converts and pushes Manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs) to ERP systems, supports the OTR transition of project scope, validates configuration logic, and works with partner functions to address BOM issues and improve processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Experience in process use and development related to product definition development, Bill of Material management, configuration management concepts, program or project scheduling, and field installation.
• Configuration Management (CM) skills.
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Engineering BOMs (EBOMs) and Unit BOMs, and convert and push Manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs) to ERP systems such as PowerMax throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the Inquiry to Order (ITO) team in the OTR transition of project scope definition in the PLM GTCC tool, or equivalent, after the Order Release Meeting.
• Collaborate with Project Engineering to ensure timely handoff of requisition scope definition in the PLM tool, or equivalent, to the OTR CM team.
• Verify accurate generation of logical features based on selected configuration options and Variant Configuration Central (VCC) logic within the PLM tool or another established method, and resolve discrepancies with the ITO CM team.
• Support Preliminary Bill of Materials (PBOM) review meetings for Steam Turbine and Generator products.
• Validate standard parts selected through GBOM rules and support Configure to Order efforts to maximize direct release percentage on requisition orders.
• Assist manufacturing and MSD sourcing teams with BOM timeliness concerns and disconnects, and conduct regular BOM integrity monitoring and reporting.
• Execute CM responsibilities in Change Management processes.
• Collaborate with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Project Engineering, Design Engineering, other CMPD teams, and other functions on continuous improvement and Lean activities.
