About The Position

BAE Systems is hiring a Configuration Analyst I to support Configuration Management activities on Combat Vehicle Programs. This role can be on-site or hybrid on-site (50% or more on-site) and will be on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. In this role, you will join a team responsible for performing Configuration Management (CM) activities related to the design, development, and production of complex systems in a defense environment. You will deliver and maintain the engineering technical data package (TDP), apply CM processes in accordance with the CM Plan, and generate reports on the status of system designs. You will also support configuration management and quality audits and develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity, using guidance from company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline OR an Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Good computer skills with MS Office suite to prepare appropriate metrics, reports and documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to demonstrate/ develop research and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organization skills
  • Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using a product data management tool highly preferred (i.e. WindChill, TeamCenter)
  • DoD experience preferred
  • Industrial Engineering or Systems Engineering
  • Experience applying industry standards and meeting government requirements
  • General knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes and documentation including military standards MIL-HDBK-61, MIL-STD-31000, industry CM standard EIA-649, and drawing standard ASME Y14.100
  • Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM)
  • MS Excel advanced user knowledge of complex formulas (pivot tables, vlookups, macros) strongly preferred
  • Experience managing BOM structures
  • Familiarity with CMMI requirements
