About The Position

Vision IT is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Conference Services – Field Technician Lead to support mission-critical operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base. The successful candidate will serve in a leadership capacity responsible for overseeing the daily operations, personnel management, and technical execution of the Conference Services Field Technician team and Video Teleconference (VTC) Support Team. This role requires a seasoned technical leader with extensive experience managing enterprise conference services, audiovisual systems, VTC operations, customer support activities, and technical field personnel in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The individual must possess strong leadership, communication, scheduling, and operational management skills and must meet California standards and expectations for a team management and supervisory role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting and managing conference services, audiovisual systems, help desk operations, field technical teams, or VTC support environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising technical teams in a government or enterprise environment.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ (Sec+) certification required in accordance with DoD requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of VTC systems and conferencing technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Audiovisual systems and integration
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, ZoomGov, Cisco conferencing platforms, and collaboration tools
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management and ticketing systems
  • Strong knowledge of DoD cybersecurity and operational compliance requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support high-visibility executive events.
  • Must meet California standards and expectations for a team management/supervisory role, including demonstrated leadership experience, personnel oversight, conflict resolution, scheduling management, and operational accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting the U.S. Air Force or other DoD agencies.
  • Experience in classified conference support environments.
  • ITIL certification or related service management training.
  • Familiarity with enterprise AV control systems and integrated conference room technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Conference Services Field Technicians and VTC Support Team supporting daily operations at LAAFB.
  • Provide direct supervision, task assignment, scheduling, mentoring, and performance oversight for all conference services personnel.
  • Ensure operational readiness and support for conference rooms, executive briefings, secure meetings, and VTC events.
  • Oversee installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and lifecycle support of audiovisual (AV), conferencing, and VTC systems.
  • Coordinate support activities for classified and unclassified meetings and mission-critical events.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for technical and operational issues involving conference services and VTC support.
  • Develop and enforce operational procedures, service standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with government leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Monitor team performance metrics, staffing coverage, incident response, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all operations comply with DoD security policies, cybersecurity requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, training programs, and operational efficiency efforts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, asset tracking, and reporting for conference support operations.
