About The Position

The Concrete & Testing Coordinator is assigned to a Field Engineering organization supporting off-site concrete supply and delivery, pumping and conveying equipment coordination, and testing for concrete and soil materials. The role coordinates local batch plants, equipment and concrete suppliers, third-party testing subcontractors, and project teams to align mix-design acceptance, production readiness, placement schedules, delivery volumes, truck cycles, testing coverage, documentation, and billing records with planned concrete placements. The coordinator works with Construction, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, concrete suppliers, and testing agencies to help ensure concrete and soil materials are supplied, delivered, tested, documented, and accepted in accordance with project requirements, applicable ACI and ASTM standards, and the project concrete placement schedule. The role supports an API Manufacturing Facility project at Generation Park in Houston, Texas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent and 2–5 years of relevant experience, or 6–9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of concrete and soil materials, mix designs, batch-plant operations, concrete production and delivery, placement methods, placing equipment, curing, protection, and placement readiness.
  • Ability to coordinate off-site concrete suppliers and multiple batch plants, evaluate production capacity and contingency coverage, and align placement dates, concrete volumes, truck quantities, cycle times, and delivery rates with project needs.
  • Ability to coordinate mix-design acceptance and review batch plant qualifications, certifications, calibration records, quality documentation, and project-specific production requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate third-party testing and apply general knowledge of ACI and applicable ASTM requirements for field testing, specimen handling, compressive-strength reporting, and testing-related NCR support.
  • Ability to develop, control, retain, reconcile, and route batch tickets and supporting delivery records to Procurement for billing review while maintaining accurate and auditable documentation.
  • Ability to read and apply drawings, specifications, placement plans, mix-design requirements, procedures, schedules, supplier reports, and testing reports.
  • Strong communication, organization, technical judgment, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily activities and interfaces among off-site concrete suppliers, local batch plants, third-party testing subcontractors, Construction, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and placement teams to support planned concrete work.
  • Coordinate mix-design submittals, technical reviews, revisions, and acceptance status; confirm approved mixes are available for placements and communicate requirements to suppliers and project stakeholders.
  • Review batch plant qualifications, certifications, calibration and inspection documentation, production capability, delivery range, quality records, and project-specific readiness.
  • Develop and maintain concrete supply, delivery, and testing schedules aligned with placement dates and look-ahead plans; confirm plant capacity, qualified personnel, testing coverage, resources, and transportation.
  • Calculate and coordinate concrete volumes, truck quantities, load spacing and cycle times, delivery rates, and dispatch sequencing according to placement duration, haul time, traffic, placing equipment capacity, and site access limitations.
  • Develop contingency plans using multiple batch plants for backup or emergency coverage, high-volume placements, schedule recovery, or continuity of supply.
  • Coordinate batch-ticket requirements, numbering and distribution, placement and mix identification, truck and load tracking, returned or rejected loads, ticket retention, reconciliation, and submission of supporting records to Procurement for billing review.
  • Coordinate third-party testing scope, access, placement locations, test frequency, certifications, reporting, specimen identification and storage, compressive-strength schedules, and communication of results or deficiencies.
  • Review supplier, delivery, batch-ticket, and testing records for completeness, accuracy, traceability, and timely submission; identify discrepancies, missed requirements, or adverse trends and coordinate resolution, including NCR support when required.
  • Promote the Zero Accident Philosophy and coordinate supplier, delivery, and testing activities to comply with site safety, access, traffic-control, quality, environmental, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical specialists or SMEs on testing requirements and applicability for soil or selected-fill materials, following project specifications and drawings.
