About The Position

The Reference Testing Coordinator supports the laboratory operations team and pathology by following Inform Diagnostics’ standards, policies, and procedures. The role involves using a data-entry terminal to input, record, verify, and edit patient and laboratory information, and receiving, sorting, and accurately entering data for specimens received in the Reference Testing area. The coordinator follows the supervisor’s direction while taking initiative to promote quality and efficiency, and receives training to meet departmental competency requirements.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 0–1 year of data-entry experience.
• High attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute with a high accuracy rate.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medications.

Responsibilities

• Identify, receive, sort, prepare, and package laboratory specimens in the Reference Testing area.
• Accurately enter vendor and material send-out information into the laboratory information system (LIS).
• Input, record, verify, and edit patient and laboratory information.
• Pull and print laboratory reports.
• Follow departmental standards, policies, procedures, and supervisor direction while promoting quality and efficiency.
