About The Position

Hi-Way Paving is seeking motivated individuals to join their in-house Concrete Saw Operator Training Program. This hands-on program provides one-on-one training with experienced professionals, covering green sawing, walk-behind saw operation, equipment maintenance, finishing, and sealing. Upon successful completion, trainees will become full-time Concrete Saw Operators. The ideal candidate possesses construction labor experience, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. This role involves frequent travel to project sites across multiple states to support slip-form concrete paving operations.

Requirements

• Heavy civil or highway construction experience preferred.
• Strong judgment and ethical decision-making skills.
• Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance required.
• CDL A or B with hazmat and tanker endorsements, preferred.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission truck, required.
• Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases).
• Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces.
• Must be at least 18 years old to meet job-site safety and labor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operating walk-behind concrete saws to create precise expansion and control joint cuts on roadways, runways, and other paved surfaces.
• Removing damaged concrete by cutting and drilling for reinforcing rods, then positioning them for repairs.
• Conducting post-cut inspections to ensure quality and making necessary corrections.
• Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure and protect concrete surfaces.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping equipment and work areas hazard-free.
• Following all safety protocols and worksite regulations.
• Assisting with other tasks as needed to support paving operations.
