About The Position

Silvi Materials is hiring a Concrete Quality Control Intern for a 10–12 week summer 2027 internship, located in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, or North or South New Jersey. The intern will work alongside experienced and certified quality control professionals at Ready-Mix plants and gain hands-on experience with concrete and aggregate testing used in the construction materials industry. Training will include exposure to an ACI Level 1-aligned industry testing curriculum, field testing of finished concrete, and laboratory analysis of raw materials and concrete cylinders.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a collegiate program is required, preferably in Concrete Industry Management, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, General Engineering, Construction Management, or Materials Science.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing aggregate and/or concrete testing for gradation, moisture, slump, air content, and temperature.
• Maintain contact with plant operations and quality control colleagues after evaluating test results so that necessary mixture adjustments can be made.
• Place portions of concrete batches into cylinders at job sites.
• Perform tests to measure concrete-cylinder compressive strength.
• Compare compressive-strength results with design values to check compliance with specifications.
