About The Position

Concrete Specialists pour, level, and smooth concrete for surfaces such as roads, curbs, floors, and sidewalks. The work may include cutting expansion joints with a power saw, aligning forms to the desired depth and pitch, directing concrete casting, preparing and cleaning surface areas, and completing moldings using hand-held and power tools. The role also involves monitoring weather effects on curing, applying sealing and hardening components, compacting concrete, and polishing surfaces.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a concrete laborer or mason.
• Knowledge of hand-held and power tools, including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Carpentry skills preferred.
• Basic blueprint comprehension preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set forms that hold concrete in place.
• Clean and inspect surfaces for pouring issues.
• Direct concrete casting in coordination with the truck driver.
• Pour, smooth, and level concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed, including handheld and powered versions.
• Monitor the effects of weather on the curing process.
• Apply sealing and hardening components.
• Safely operate a power vibrator to compact concrete.
• Mold and construct expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
• Polish surfaces using a power surfacing machine.
• Maintain and provide basic hand tools necessary for the work.
• Perform related duties, including light demolition or grading, as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
