About The Position

The Concierge Lounge Attendant provides guests with information about the hotel and city and responds thoroughly to their immediate needs. The role creates distinctive guest experiences that encourage loyalty and support the overall service experience. Duties may include setting up and maintaining the continental breakfast buffet, honor bar, and hors d'oeuvres; offering information and making reservations for local services and activities; and responding to guest comments and complaints according to procedure. The attendant also escorts and serves VIP guests. The position requires frequent interaction with guests in person and by telephone, including communicating information, making reservations, and supporting guest satisfaction. Work is primarily indoors, with physical tasks related to food and beverage service and lounge setup.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
One year of previous customer service-related experience.
Knowledge of hotel policies, procedures, and services.
Ability to communicate in English; a second language is desirable.
Ability to build positive guest relations and maximize guest satisfaction.
Excellent hearing for frequent in-person and telephone communication.
Moderate vision for setting up food displays.
Ability to understand recreational information.
Excellent speech communication skills for continual guest interaction and frequent telephone use.
Excellent comprehension and literacy for making reservations for guest recreation.
Ability to lift food and beverages on and off carts, up to 20 pounds.
Ability to push and pull a small cart.
Ability to bend and possibly kneel to set up and break down breakfast and/or hors d'oeuvres.
Ability to move food and beverages from the kitchen to the Concierge Lounge by elevator and return.
Ability to stand continuously for periods of guest communication and sit for reservation-making and dispensing information.

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain the continental breakfast buffet, honor bar, and hors d'oeuvres, if applicable.
Provide information and assist guests with restaurants, theater and musical productions, airlines, automobile rentals, transportation and directions, office services, beauty and barber establishments, and other appropriate services.
Make reservations for guests and offer access to ticket agencies, limousine services, and tour guide organizations.
Handle guest comments and complaints according to procedure.
Escort and serve VIP guests.
