CONCESSION FOOD SERVICE WORKER (PART TIME)
About The Position
The Concession Food Service Worker sells soft drinks and food items to customers at events. The role serves customers efficiently and in a friendly manner, handles sales and payments, and maintains the concession area. The position is part-time at San Jose State University in San Jose, California. The schedule will be discussed during the interview. Previous concession or food service experience is preferred. The stated pay range is $18.45 to $19.00 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the opening is filled. Because the position provides services in an educational facility, work may decline or stop during winter and summer breaks. Such periods may be unpaid and treated as a temporary layoff; depending on business needs, associates may be asked to work year-round, potentially at another location during breaks.

Responsibilities
- Sell concessions, including soft drinks and food items, to customers at events.
- Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner, following outlined service steps.
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information to a supervisor.
- Process sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion and enter sales into the cash register accurately.
- Make change, accept approved forms of payment, and issue receipts.
- Follow cash-handling procedures and ensure assigned change funds and cash receipts comply with overage and shortage standards.
- Replenish condiments and general supplies and maintain cleanliness in the concession area.
- Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
